  • Meet The Artists

Bain Boehlke is the founding Artistic Director of the Jungle Theater. Since the Jungle's inception 21 years ago he has directed, designed and/or appeared in most of the theater's productions. Over his 50+ year theater career, he has also worked in theaters around the country including the Arizona Theatre Company, Louisville Children's Theatre and Honolulu Theatre for Youth. Bain was the Associate Artistic Director and a leading actor at the Children's Theater Company for 13 years. He is the recipient of the 2001 McKnight Fellowship for Theater Arts, the 2009 Distinguished Artist of the Year by the McKnight Foundation, and the 2011 Ivey Award for Lifetime Achievement. You may recognize him (or his voice) from his appearance as Mr. Mohra in the Coen brothers' film Fargo.

Cheryl Willis starred in last season's Shirley Valentine at the Jungle and earlier in Shining City. Other credits include Children's Theater Company, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, History Theater, Park Square, Frank Theatre, Joking Apart, and Hardcover. Cheryl is the Artistic Director for the Acadia Repertory Theatre on Mount Desert Island, Maine, where she has directed and performed over 50 productions in the past decade. She is an artist and puppeteer and is Co-Artistic Director of The Eagle and Rose Theater Company. She is an artist and puppeteer, Co-Artistic Director of The Eagle and Rose Theater Company, and worked with the Jim Henson Company. TV credits include Coronation Street, Brookside, Emmerdale Farm, and The Return of Sherlock Holmes.

Michael Booth has appeared at the Jungle as Jim in the Glass Menagerie, in Blithe Spirit as Charles Condomine and in SHIPWRECKED! as Louis de Rougemont. He has also appeared in numerous roles at the Guthrie, Park Square, St. Louis Rep, Cleveland Playhouse, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Berkshire Playhouse, MN Shakespeare Project, and MN Fringe Festival, and in the films Wooly Boys, This Car Up, and A Simple Plan.
