Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill recounts Billie Holiday’s life story through the songs that made her famous. The year: 1959. The place: a small, intimate bar in Philadelphia where Holiday puts on a show that, unbeknownst to the audience, will leave them witnesses to one of her final performances.
IT DON'T MATTER IF IT'S GOOD OR BAD, YOU WOULDN'T BE WHAT OR WHO YOU ARE NOW IF YOU HADN'T BEEN WHATEVER YOU WAS WAY BACK WHEN. SEE, I KNOW WHO I AM NOW IS BECAUSE OF WHO I WAS THEN.
